Caston avenged another conference loss from last year defeating Triton 19-0 in 5 innings. The Comets secured a winning season, and no worse than 4th in the conference. Last year they finished 6-17, the worst they can finish this year is 10-9. Making strides in the right direction. Caston’s bats were firing like an Indy Car coming out of turn four as they had 15 hits on the night. Leading the way was Layne Oliver with an in the park “Granny”, she ended the night with 2 hits and 5 ribeyes. Boldry added 3 RBIs. Having multi-hit nights were Boldry, Harsh, Deming, Williamson, Horn, and Oliver. Adding a hit each were Milburn and Hubenthal.
Harsh on the bump was throwing optic yellow comets as she struck out 10 and only allowed 2 hits.
This night was a special night as we celebrated Shayley Strasser and her defeating the brain tumor. She threw out the first pitch and was given about $450.00 from the softball program to not really help out with bills, but to just let her have some money to blow for herself. The softball girls came through and had all walk up music that was performed by her favorite artist, her name was on the back of all the shirts the the girls bought and wore. It was just a great night to see Shayley out and about since her surgery.
