It was a nasty, wet Saturday afternoon on the outside and the shooting on the inside was not much better than the weather. The win ended a 17 game HNAC losing streak and it was the Comets first victory over Laville ever.
Emma Kay’s buzzer beater at the end of the second quarter give the Comets an 8 point lead at the break. The Comets shooting woes reared its evil head as the Comets’ only point in the third quarter was a free throw by Layne Oliver. In the fourth quarter Laville would cut the lead to 3, but could never get closer. Dague give the Comets a lift off the bench with some solid play and Holt hit 5-8 free throws in the last two minutes to get the win.
Scoring for the Comets: Holt 15, Clingler 5, Smith 4, Dague 4, Kay 3, Oliver 1
